you will have an experience, not just another overnight stay Our guest information book located in the #GR8House helps you with recommendations on things to do, places to visit, and fabulous restaurants for great food as well as specifics about the house itself.
the gr8house features 4 bedrooms, each with its own bath, and will sleep 10 comfortably 3 bedrooms (1 king/master and 2 queens) are located on the main level along with an open floorplan kitchen/dining/great room with gas fireplace. Off of the dining area is an enclosed screened porch (20’ X 12’) which connects to a 60’ X 8’ open deck the length of the house - we have added a gas griddle to the upstairs deck for outdoor cooking enjoyment. Cooking utensils and griddle cleaning supplies provided.
the main living area and deck provide a beautiful view of hogback mountain The bottom level includes the 4th bedroom (1 full plus 2 twin beds), full bath as well as another open kitchen/dining/great room with gas fireplace. Another open deck (40’ X 8’) is located on this level. A game room is also available on this level with ping-pong, foosball, darts, and kids air hockey. From the great room you have access to the outside through double doors. Board games, puzzles, and cards are also located on this level.
hi-speed fiber internet and wifi are provided (cell service is pretty good too) Both great rooms include 55 inch Roku Smart TVs with Amazon Prime, Netflix, Max, and YouTubeTV available. A 3rd Roku TV is located in the master bedroom on the main level – same streaming access. A smaller TV is mounted in the game room with ROKU. The master bedroom has a king bed with a luxury Sapphire Silver 14” foam mattress. Both queen rooms on the main level have luxury Sapphire Copper 12” foam mattresses. The twin beds on the lower level have foam mattresses as well.
we provide all paper products, soaps, and towels for showers, sinks, and kitchens Kitchens are furnished with all utensils and spices and appointed with all amenities you might need should you decide to cook instead of eating out. A Mr Coffee is provided upstairs with a Keurig downstairs – coffee/sugar/creamers are provided. Popcorn is also provided in the downstairs kitchen.
a firepit is located outside the gameroom but renters are prohibited from using the firepit by direction of the holly forest association VIOLATION COULD RESULT IN FINES TO THE OWNERS WHICH WOULD BE PASSED TO THE RENTER AS AN ADDITIONAL FEE.
the #gr8house is situated at about 3200 feet above sea level and at the end of the street limiting traffic It is about 0.2 miles from Hwy 64 providing quick and easy access to all the local amenities. The Sapphire Valley Resort is only 2 miles west on Hwy 64. Gorges State Park is 5 miles east. We have a flat circular driveway and a porte-cochere to keep you out of the elements when arriving at the #GR8House. Being at the end of the road provides additional parking opportunities. We have security cameras in the front and side of the house.

We are located just 7 miles from Cashiers, 12 miles from Highlands, and an hour from Asheville. Easy access to everything this area has to offer! There are more than a dozen waterfalls and hiking trails within 15-45 minutes of the #GR8House.
our guests have full access (with a minimal daily fee – children under 14 free) to the sapphire valley resort with all of its amazing amenities Included are the private Fairfield Lake where you can fish, paddle, swim, or just take a leisurely walk on the trail circling the lake. The Sapphire Valley Recreation Center offers three swimming pools (one indoor), one wet and one dry sauna, 2 whirlpools, gym, mini golf, and an arcade. You can also schedule a massage or tanning bed. Outside are tennis and pickleball courts, a running/walking track, playground, a 9-hole golf course and the 18-hole Sapphire Valley National Golf Course is open to the public. During the winter months Ski Sapphire Valley offers a ‘blue’ ski slope with quad chair, a bunny slope (lessons and rentals available), and a 4-lane tubing slope called Frozen Falls. Our guests receive discounted ticket, rental, and lesson prices after purchasing amenity passes.
